A customer recently asked some questions about the Medela Pump in
Style breast pump. We had done a consultation and
determined that this was the correct breast pump for her, as she
needed to express the majority of feeds for her baby, rather than
nursing at the breast. Here at Breastmates, we can provide
free consultation to help you find the correct breast pump for your
needs. You can enquire
here.
The Medela PNS pump is a high-grade double electric breast pump,
suited for mothers that need to express alot of milk for an ongoing
timeframe.
The customer asked:
"The US medela catalog shows a couple
of different bag styles for the pump-in-style. Are those available
in NZ?"
No we only have the Back-Pack style of PNS available in New
Zealand. Medela NZ does not import the other
styles.
"Is it possible to swap a larger-sized personal fit kit for
the standard ones that come with the pump"
The Pump in Style set comes with the 24mm standard ones in the
boxed set. If you need the larger size
breastshields, you would need to do a separate order for those.
We can't change the ones that come in the box set
"The room I pump in doesn't have a power point. What kind of
batteries does the pump-in-style use?"
The pump takes standard batteries. It is better to
use alkaline batteries, rather than rechargeable. With alkaline
batteries the pump will just stop when there is no energy left. But
with rechargeable batteries the pump will get weaker and weaker
before the energy runs out, which is very inefficient pumping.
