Read customer feedback regarding Lily Pads
"Hello. I have found the lilly pads to be great, they are so
easy to clean an still haven't lost they stick an i used them
regularly!! They go on an come off very easily an when I'm wearing
them you cant even tell, i cant even feel im wearing them as with
normal breast pads they can get uncomfy at times an also show
through certain tops an bras. i stil use other breast pads but that
is due to some problems with itchiness, i didn't leak well on using
these!! Cheers Candice"
Questionnaire answers from B. Barnes
- Were they easy to put on? Very
- Comfortable? Brilliant like having nothing on
- Did you find they stopped your breasts leaking? Unfortunately
not, I have a very heavy flow, but I do use them to stop leaks when
partner and I have 'special' cuddles.
- Did you get any drips or spills from the lily padz? I wore them
in bed and they fell off when I leaked.
- Did you still wear a bra? no but I will have to try wearing
them with a bra, will try that as I want to wear them with my
wedding dress.
- Was the size okay? Great and I am a big busted girl.
- Did you use any other breast pads while breastfeeding? Yes had
to use your woolen ones next to my skin and a disposable on top
which I have to change about twice a day, after six months breast
feeding!
- Easy to clean and care for? Great, wash and go
- Any other comments? Loved the hard case for them (which they
come with) I have it next to my bed for 'special cuddles
time'.
Questionnaire answers from M. Marshall
1. Were they easy to put on? Yes. Actually to be honest when I
bought them I didn't expect them to work - certainly not work
braless (which was my hope when first purchasing them) because I've
got quite a full figure (even before nursing) and figured that
would make them difficult / impossible to wear without support.
2. Comfortable? Very. At the best of times I forgot I had them
on.
3. Did you find they stopped your breasts leaking? Not
completely, but mostly. Occasionally there'd be a couple drops
trapped inside the pad - not sure if this is because I was putting
them on wrong, or what. Also found (whether there was a little
collected milk or not) that I tended to leak a bit after taking
them off, particularly after overnight use (i.e., very full
breasts). In much the same manner, I find that when feeding
overnight (without a bra) I need to take both off rather than just
the one, because the let down on my non-feeding breast was strong
enough that the pad leaked anyway and it was easier to have a cloth
there ready rather than trying to fight the pad. On the few
occasions I wore them with a bra I didn't need to do this, however,
perhaps because of the added pressure / support the bra
provides.
4.Did you still wear a bra? I bought them pretty much just for
overnight use without a bra - during the day I wear a cloth pad. I
have worn them in a bra and had no problems. To be honest I'm not
sure why I don't wear them in the bra more often, I think a part of
me is still lacking faith! But no, overnight I didn't wear a bra,
however I only have marginal success with this. I find they get
dirty (making them less effective) very quickly and whilst they are
very easy to wash I tend to be lazy ;-) I found them quite easy to
'bump' off if I was using them braless while still being up and
moving; i.e., my arm would brush the edge and in effect, peel it
off and lose the suction. Therefore I got in the habit of putting
them on only right as I was climbing in bed - if I then rolled onto
my tummy the added pressure on the breasts actually helped
establish the 'stick' quite well and I didn't have to worry about
them after that
5. Was the size okay? Fine for me, I think. Never thought about
it before.
6.Did you use any other breast pads while breastfeeding? See
above - I usually use cloth pads during the day (with a bra) and
lily padz overnight (braless)
7. Easy to clean and care for?
I do think they collect lint/dust like nothing else - the first
use (after a wash) usually is great, but after removing to feed
(and keeping it ready beside me) it gets much harder to establish
the 'stick' each time....The actual washing process was quite easy
however, and I made it even easier by washing them when I hopped in
the shower and/or was washing my hands.
8.Any other comments?
I've probably waxed negative here, but I do really like them.
They're not 100% perfect or foolproof, but the fact that they
enable a breastfeeding woman to go braless, even at "leaky" time
periods, without ending up with wet spots everywhere is really
revolutionary, and quite freeing.
We recommend that you purchase one pair of Lily Pads, and 1-2
pairs of Hemp
Breast Pads which can be used to absorb squirts and milk flow
when you remove the Lily Pads, and for spills during
breastfeeding.
